'Architecture satisfies my creativity but it also satisfies my need for practicality and something quite rigorous.' Isabelle Chatel de Brancion is the architect behind Prescott and Conran’s new 'mothership' Albion in Clerkenwell, and the founder and owner of London-based SPIN Architecture. In addition to designing restaurants and hotels, Isabelle’s portfolio covers a range of residential new build projects, and she is able to do everything from product design to interior design.
For Isabelle, the beauty of architecture is to start from zero and end with a built environment. But she didn’t always want to be an architect. Originally she set out to study art, and it was on a work placement at an architect’s firm that Isabelle first discovered an interest and an aptitude that inspired her to change careers. Her wide-ranging experience includes time spent at a number of practices in Paris, London and Milan, including Conran and Partners, Foster + Partners, and Portzamparc.
