Jonathan Christie is an artist and designer. He grew up in South West London before attending Maidstone College to study art. He has worked as a designer in London at the Radio Times magazine and The Independent on Sunday, and is currently the Creative Director at Octopus Publishing Group where he designs cookery, design and gardening books for authors such as Terence Conran and Dan Pearson.
Jonathan continues to paint and draw, inspired by the landscapes of Sussex and Cornwall. He has exhibited extensively throughout Britain, including at The Fry Art Gallery in Saffron Walden and The Rowley Gallery in London.
He first discovered George Smart’s work in the library at Maidstone College of Art and has been an admirer ever since. Jonathan lives in Frant with his family, a few hundred yards from the site of Smart’s former house.
