Dan Pearson is hugely respected and influential landscape and garden designer with an international reputation for design and planting. Dan trained at RHS Wisley and the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew before starting his professional career in 1987. He is an honorary fellow of RIBA, had a retrospective exhibition of his work at The Garden Museum in 2013, has done six show gardens at Chelsea, winning Gold and Best in show in 2015. He is also Honorary Gardening Advisor for Sissinghurst.
Dan is one of a handful of British ‘gardeners’ who are shaping how we see gardens worldwide. He is an intuitive landscape gardener famous for his naturalistic planting and sense of place. Dan is also rare in that he is an eloquent speaker and an engaging writer:
‘My English teacher, Joan Wiggins, helped me to see the value of holding and distilling a thought in words. A thought that might not last much longer than it takes to bury your nose in a rose or unearth the first freshly dug spuds. Gardening is special for that. Everything has meaning and association, a layering of accrued experience that builds towards a slow but sure understanding.’
